It all started when Next Chapters' founder Christina, broke her foot late last summer that she began to reflect upon the depth of experience with Diversity and Inclusion and the level of her technical knowledge. The search for a more global perspective led her to participate in a professional development certificate from Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations via their distance learning programs.
Bringing experience and learnings into her work makes it even more rewarding. As she rounds out this week, she is celebrating the completion of her Diversity and Inclusion certificate from eCornell.
Achieving this certificate empowers her to help make organizations a more supportive and engaging place to work by understanding the perceptual, institutional, and psychological processes that impact the ways people interact with each other.
Starting with a look at employee engagement, then identifying interventions surrounding unconscious bias and specific diversity and inclusion strategies, this certificate solidifies her commitment to going beyond mere compliance to building a truly aware and inclusive work culture.
From here, her foot is well healed and she is grateful for the wealth of knowledge shared throughout the program and the tools provided by professors, facilitators, and peers she has learned from along the way. Christina is excited and inspired to keep developing her skills in this area, and especially to integrate her learnings into her coaching sessions and trainings that encourage best practices to elevate professional experiences for everyone!
